Sensor layout
Weather station showing radiation shield holding the temperature, humidity and solar radiation sensors.
The lightning detector is housed in an outdoor junction box with a PVC pipe to hold the antenascrewed into the top. An access hole on the back has been closed using the provided screw cap and epoxied in place. The PVC pipe has teflon tape around the thread.
The rain gauge can be seen in the background
Close up view of the radiation shield. The pin diode used for the
solar radiation monitor can be seen extending from the radiation shield.
The pin diode was epoxied to the shething uing "marine epoxy".
The 4 foot copper grounding rod used for the lightning detector.
The lightning detector currently suffers from periods having excessive
noise yielding a count rate of several kHz.
